Description:  2018 Bison Trail Boss This is an all-aluminum 4 horse trailer bought new in April 2019. I bought this trailer specifically to convert to a toyhauler. RV toy haulers(RV's in general) are built like crap with wood studs, plywood, rubber roofs and steel frames(heavy and rust). They leak, crack, rust and just don't hold up. Horse trailers are built tough! All welded(this one is aluminum) and last for many many trouble free years and hold their value exceptionally well. I have all the horse dividers for this trailer and It can be converted back to haul horses in under 2 hours! How did it work as a toy hauler? Perfect! The ramp door is a huge benefit. As you can see I added shelves along with overhead storage. Also added are lots of E-track for added flexibility in storage and securing cargo. I hauled 2 dirt bikes and one side by side and a mountain bike along witht he stuff I carried on the shelves and in the overhead storage. I have 2 solar panels installed for a total of 440 watts along with a 2800 watt pure sine inverter, 60 amp charger, and a 2 battery system for all your off-grid electrical needs. I only used it "boondocking"(off-grid) so the system works great. I also have a 4200 watt remote start generator wired for those times you need more power(to run A/C) or if it's cloudy for a couple of days. The generator has the exhaust plumbed out the side and runs above the RV for stealth operation. This RV is totally self-contained. It has approx 30 gal freshwater, 30 gal grey, and 20 gal black water tanks(all done by Bison as this living area was built by them). see this website for more info- This trailer started out as the 7411 model(same as 7311 except it is longer to haul 4 horses) the "7" in the model number means 7 ft wide, the "4" means 4 horse, the "11" means 11 ft short wall i.e. the short wall of the living area (drivers side) is 11 ft and the long wall approx 15 ft(passenger side) as the back of the living area wall is slanted not square. The living area has a full bath, microwave, 5 cu ft fridge with separate freezer, fold-out couch/bed, A/C with built-in heater, full furnace,6 gals hot water heater,2 burner propane stove, residential faucet, and plenty of storage. easily can fit queen size bed in front of the trailer. I had a double bed and that allowed me room for the plastic storage bins you see on the passenger side. TV with power antennae along with DVD, and bluetooth stereo. Also fantastic fan in the bath area. All the comforts of home! The outside trailer has Power awning, outside water spigot, rear ramp door, side door, power outlets, exterior LED lighting(all lights on/in the trailer are LED). I have also done a lot of "extras" to the trailer. As you can see in the picture I fabricated a fold-out table to the passenger side and is shielded by the awning. This table works great for outside cooking, repairs, eating etc! I also insulated the whole underside of the trailer with 3 1/2 pink foam board insulation. What a difference this made for comfort in cold and hot! The ceiling of the storage area was also insulated with 1' pink foam board and covered with white fiberglass paneling. All the work of adding all the insulation was worth it as heat and cooling load was drastically reduced for much greater comfort. As seen by the picture of the axle mounting area, I installed Dexter(the axles are made by Dexter) 3 inch lift for greater ground clearance. As you can see I have put a tremendous amount of thought and work into this project. I built it out from April 2019 until January 2020. My plan was to enjoy off-road riding out west in the National forests etc. while boondocking. The unit worked great doing this! The only issue I have is that it is too big! I found out I enjoy going deep into the forests to camp and ride. The length of this trailer makes that difficult at times so I have decided to sell it and get a truck bed camper and pull a small trailer with my toys to shorten up my overall length considerably. I would consider a truck bed camper and/or enclosed trailer (up to 14 ft ish) in partial trade. Being all aluminum the trailer empty(before build-out weighed approx 7600lbs with 14,400 gross weight. Very light with a lot of cargo capacity. I got around 14 mpg while towing with my 2017 chevy diesel truck. It has a gooseneck hitch however if you currently have a 5th wheel hitch it can be converted easily to gooseneck( I will include my adapter if it is needed) Here is what I have and it's one of many options to convert. this unit is ready to go with the exception of adding 2 batteries. I can discuss what would be your best options based on your needs. I have no problem showing you how to install them(10 mins) For $36,500 (in rv form)This is an amazing well built trailer that will outlast any RV! It can also be used to haul horses!!! :)) If you are only interested in using it as a horse trailer I can convert it back. Horse trailer only price is $34,900 I am sure I have forgot several other features which I can show you when you come look at this. Call or text @ 309 six seven eight 9326
